Valerie is a Professor of English and teaches
courses in composition, business writing, technical writing, professional writing, and literature.
Valerie has written nonfiction children’s books and college textbooks. Her authoring credits include two nonfiction books for Enslow Publishing: Jason Kidd: Star Guard and The Court-Martial Trial of West Point Cadet Johnson C. Whittaker.
Valerie is a nationally and internationally recognized presenter with over 40 presentations to colleges, conferences, and organizations. She has developed curricula for middle school and high school students.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, 34% of high school students take college courses while in high school. This phenomenon is known as dual enrollment. Dual enrollment has many advantages such as completing college degree requirements early and paying less for college tuition.
